Have you ever had eine gute deutsche Schokolade? The real secret is to melt actual Schokolade in the heated Milch. It makes a rich, creamy, dessert-type Getränk that far exceeds what you can make from a little Päckchen. Or even from Kakaopulver. We had that, too, when we were in Deutschland, but meine Familie called it heißer Kakao. Still, Heiße Schokolade is far superior. Especially with a little pinch of Chilipulver. Also, any chocolate bar works!
Serve it with a tray of Weichnachtsplätzchen — or Weihnachtskekse — and you already have the beginnings of a little Feier.
