Here at Learn Deutsch with Me, we believe that learning German should be as enjoyable as a hike in the Alps. Learning German definitely comes with challenges. But the view from the top is absolutely worth the effort–and with the right mindset, the effort itself is rewarding.
Whether you are an absolute beginner, a seasoned enthusiast, or someone who accidentally ordered sauerkraut, this is the place to stop along your hike to enjoy the view and remind yourself why you are on this trail.
Who is behind this little field trip into the German language, you ask? Ich heiße Dana. My students call me Frau Hanley. I learned German as an exchange student through the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange. I then went on to get a degree in Germanic Languages and Literatures (with honors, even!) and education from the University of Kansas. After graduation, I returned to Germany to study at the Christian Albrechts Universität in Kiel to complete graduate work. I chose the ever so exciting topic of developing curricular materials for the classroom from authentic realia. I now teach German at True North Homeschool Academy and love sharing my passion for language with my students.
